Needle Felt Workshop - Learning the Basics

This course will take place on 11th April 2026

10.30am to 1pm

at The Bay Gallery, ChallyBeate Street, Aberystwyth

There are just 4 places available to ensure you get the most out of the time.

This is a course for beginners who want to learn the foundations of needle felt. The aim is not to make a finished object but to look at and practice making basic shapes which you can then use to create your own design or to give you confidence when using kits.

i will cover tools, equipment and wool variations. We will aim to make 4 or 5 basic shapes.

All Materials are provided and you will have a small kit to take home and practice with which will include a bag for filling with rice to make your own mat, wool and needles.

You will need basic dexterity in your dominant hand to get the most out of the workshop. The venue is not wheelchair accessible at present and does involve two steps to access. Tea and biscuits will be provided but feel free to bring your own snacks!
